SLIME CARE

  •  Slimes are not edible, please DO NOT EAT SLIME. Never consume slime or any items contained within slime.
  • Always wash your hands with soap and water, and dry before and after handling slime.
  • Play with your slime on a clean, hard, non-porous surface.
  • The more you play with slime, the softer it will become so it is best to knead your slimes a bit to get the perfect texture.
  • Slime is naturally sticky since it is made from glue, so try handling it in quick, light motions.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and nose. In case of contact, wash thoroughly with water.
  • Keep your slime away from porous surfaces, clothing, carpet, furniture, pets, and hair as slime can stain and get stuck.
  • To remove slime from carpets or non-delicate fabrics, use 1:1 vinegar and water solution. Use water only for removal of slime on delicate fabrics and surfaces.
  • Our slimes are intended for individuals ages 4+ and up. Adult
  • supervision is strongly recommended.

WHAT IS A SLIME ACTIVATOR?

A slime activator is a liquid solution needed to create and maintain the chemical reaction that takes place to form slime. We use diluted borax to activate our hand-made slimes.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN ACTIVATOR SOLUTION:

1. Take the pack of borax dust that is included in your order.
2. Measure 250ml of warm water and add all the borax dust.
3. Stir until all the borax powder is completely dissolved.

SLIME STORAGE

Place the slime back in its original container or in an airtight container when you are done playing so it doesn't dry out or become hard. Store your slime in a cool, dry place away from the sunlight as heat and sunlight will melt the slime.

SLIME TOO STICKY?

When you first receive your slime, test with 1 finger to make sure it is not too sticky. If it seems to be too sticky, reseal the container and place slime in a colder place or in the fridge for 15-30 min. If the slime is still sticky, mix and knead 1-2 drops of the activator solution into the slime until the slime is not sticky anymore (please refer to the previous instructions on how to make your own activator solution). Add only small amounts of activator at a time to prevent
your slime from getting overactivated.

TIPS:

Slime can easily get over-activated. We highly advise to add little activator solution at a time and knead thoroughly in between.
Do NOT add too much activator solution or the slime will get hardand stiff!
DO NOT ADD THE BORAX DUST DIRECTLY TO THE SLIME as it will make the slime stiff and ruin the slime texture. We are not responsible for user over-activation of slime.

STIFF OR HARD SLIME?

Try warming the slime up with your hands by massaging it for a few minutes. You can also try adding 1 tablespoon of warm water and knead into the slime until you get the consistency that you want. If the slime is still hard:

For opaque, white glue-based slimes: add 1-2 pumps of lotion and knead into the slime until you reach your desired consistency.
For clear glue-based slime: leave the slime untouched in its airtight container in a warm place or somewhere where it can absorb sunlight for 2-3 days or as needed.
Note: Slime tends to harden/stiffen in cold weather or if played with
for an extended period.

INFLATED SLIME?

Please note that it is normal for slime to inflate. When stretching and kneading slimes, bubbles are trapped in the slime that causes it to be inflated. If the inflated slime will not fit to the container, try to squeeze and pop the air bubbles out. If the slime still does not fit, you can put the excess slime in any other airtight container or even a zip lock bag until the slime deflates back to its original size.

DEFLATED SLIME?

Please note that all slimes naturally melt and deflate over time. The process varies on the slime type and usage, as repeated exposure to air and skin will make your slime deflate. Slimes also deflate when the bubbles work their way out of the slime. Clay/butter/self-inflating slime tends to deflate faster than other types of slime.

CLEAR SLIME IS FOGGY/NO LONGER CLEAR

When you play with slime, it makes little air bubbles which can make your clear slime appear bubbly, foggy, or cloudy. These bubbles will leave over time so don't worry. Simply give your slime some rest, and do not touch it for a couple of hours/days. You can speed up this process by keeping your slime in a warm place. ALWAYS wash and dry your hands before playing with slime especially when your slime is clear. Anything on your hands such as lotions, crumbs, and grease will come off into the slime, make it foggy, and ruin its texture, colour, scent etc.

HOW LONG WILL SLIME LAST?

Slime should last for 2-6 months if it is properly cared for. This time frame varies depending on the usage. Slime will eventually lose its moisture and may shrink or melt overtime. If you notice that your slime changes color or produces odor, discard it. immediately.
